My Review:

9/10

Now this book takes place right after season 2 of Riverdale, and this book does tie directly into the storyline. I vaguely remember something about a lake house and I remembered it was important to the story, and this book solely relies on that premise. So flat out, in order to understand this book as a whole, you should watch Riverdale season 2, streaming on Netflix.

GOOT (Get Out of Town) follows the same outline as book #1, The Day Before, with the alternating character POV’s, but this added more than four perspectives to the story. This was difficult for me because I am a person who struggles with following multiple storylines at once, so when it is changing to a new character every chapter, it can get confusing.

That being said, I did enjoy how this book took on Nancy Drew vibes, with there needing to be clues gathered to prove something, just like Nancy Drew would do. And also this was staying true to the RIVERDALE characters and who they are, not the ones everyone knows from Archie Comics.

OVERALL:

This series however is starting to feel really out there. BUT I am not blaming the author for this, because she doesn’t write the show, and the show if you didn’t know gets sillier every season. SO if Micol Ostow can make a Riverdale book and make it less silly than the show, I would definitely stick to this series.
