My review:

7/10

Alright, let’s start with the good. This book was scary. The characters were somewhat relatable, which in some Disney books they aren’t. From the start, it was very fast paced and got right to the action. I thought the ending was going to be one thing, but then it is something completely unexpected.

Now onto the negative part of my review. I think the author does a really good job with making new characters, but it felt like the story was just role reversal to The Little Mermaid. It isn’t about a mermaid, but it is about a girl who longs for something, makes a deal with a witch and it goes horribly wrong. I do think this book was the least scary in the series of Disney Chills. I would be willing though to read #6 in the series.

Overall:

This book was honestly a “don’t litter! It will destroy you.” kind of story. I just wanted to be scared but not taught a lesson about littering. I know not to litter but this was just a political statement, which I was not a fan of, but still scary.
